Taking your jersey off after getting ejected from a basketball must for a L.A. Lakers thing. Last season, when the Lakers were swept by the Dallas Mavericks, Lakers center Andrew Bynum decked Mavs guard J.J. Barea and on his way to the locker room he rips off his jersey as he walked off the court in Dallas.
In Monday’s 119-90 blowout loss in Oklahoma City, Ebanks channeled his inner Bynum by doing almost exactly the same thing. After a tussle occurred during a loose ball, Ebanks shoved Thunder guard Royal Ivey and got a technical for it. When he continued to mouth off, he got a second technical and was thrown out of the game.
On his way to the locker room, Ebanks slams a chair on the Lakers bench and then ripped off his jersey. “You just can’t lose your cool like that,” Lakers coach Mike Brown said. Watch the classless act:
